Marriage or Manage - secret sauce for success

Since my childhood i grew up with observing marriages around me. Some of them were amicable, some were hostile, friendly , affectionate . I never seen any marriage for convenience unless i grew older and saw the society from an adult eyes. But definitely marriage is one of the oldest institution across the globe and basis of the human society. It teaches all kind of management. Starting from human resource, financial, resources, process optimization and i can go on and on this list 😂 . Marriage, family , kids , kids grow up and cycle repeats . But over the period of time i observed that peaceful marriages or the successful marriages are which comes with lots of managing . Like the earlier we will come to know the strength, weakness of a person as they grow old and shift our preferences accordingly that is a key of success. It is same as any work place environment when we join, work and establish ourselves within the team , company and grow in that place. Changing the job sometimes res

Broom Evolution

Image
This is the latest version of broomstick that i bought from an Indian grocery store in Bay area. It was well packed and i could not see the details much before getting it home . After unpacking i could not stop myself vowing to write up the story of broom revolution. This broom stick is made with plastic which is  easy to use and less maintenance but as usual not environment friendly. I am born and brought up in eastern India and broom comes with lots of prejudice and restrictions . Like i remember that how our old maid used to complain my mom that she needs a new broom and my mom and grandmother used to push her back citing days , months restrictions - 😀 . Are you laughing but this is true 😄!  Above picture is different versions of jharu / jhata ( localized string for broom stick in India ) i grew up with. Each of them has different purpose and none of them suppose to interfere with each other's responsibilities - like some will be used to clean house , some will be use for outd

FASTING - What is for ?

Image
In all the religions there are significant importance of fasting. Everyone from ancient time suggested human to fast for certain days in a year. Modern day also there are so many different type of fasting exists like intermittent fasting, 3 days fasting , water fasting , N number of days fasting etc. Recently there was a event that happened at my personal life that trigger my thought is 'what is this fasting'? Is it only fasting from food ? or fasting from thoughts , fasting over bad words , fasting over negativity , fasting over greed , fasting over lust, fasting over jealousy, i  can go on... there are so many different kind of feelings that drive us crazy sometimes.  I usually fast on Monday not a very strict fast but i dont eat carbohydrate during daytime and eat sattvic meal at night. I observed that most of the time i end my day either grumbling or complaining, why so ? That's when i am realizing that when the instruction of fast is provided its also fast from lots o

The Evening ...

Image
I attended a talk show by famous personality like "Gulzar Sahib" over the week end. Most of the crowd were 40+ and was profoundly waiting to get a sip of relaxation from this famous diverse personality. I used to read and recite poem, poetry since i was in class 12. After that last 24 years was playing 'tag' game with life. How many target i can touch vs how many will run away from me...lol. I forgot that highest form of human relaxation can be achieved through imagination. Just pure and intellectual imagination that will lead to ultimate form of stress buster. I grew up with reading "Tagore" , Najrul , Jobadanondo Das, Sukanto so many more that i forgot the names. After spending this evening with Gulzar , i am more determined to rejuvenate my rendezvous with poetry ... :-) Lets see... will keep myself posted. This evening struck me to think association of human civilization and poetry, songs , pure good talk without any adulteration. From the beginning of

Jr. Vs ...

In last 5.5 years there are 5 kids born around me. I want to capture the survival technique for their parents and how these small kiddos gave the challenges no less than an adult. It's no less than a war where at the end always the kiddo is winner with their charming smile and meaningless giggles.  These kids will grow up and we as a parent will keep on solving one challenge after other 😊. So i want to capture these light moments and memories that will remain forever. I will start with a youngest Diya. Since she arrived home from hospital on 5th day after her was born, her parents lost their 'good night sleep'. Every 2 weeks for 3-4 days she wont sleep at night while she can compensate her sleep at her own time but her parents became zombie. 😂. While she was around 5 months she started eating her home made rice cereal ( khichri ).  After 1 week she refused to eat that anymore rather liked the normal lentil soup that her mom prepares. By the age of 10 - 12 months, as soon

My COVID Diary....

Image
The last two years, everyone was warning and saying how it would feel like. Everyone helping each other to spread the fear and not allowing the adventurous mind to roam around :-). So, I was very well aware of all the symptoms. After staying 2 years in a cocoon, I was mentally prepared to conquer my fear and was positive that I can fight this demon back, if I were to get it. Friday, June 17. I woke up with severe body ache and headache. Usually, my pain is not chronic, so this was worrisome. Not to mention, off late, COVID was spreading ferociously around my neighborhood. For the rest of the day, I worked with an acute uncomfortableness. As it was Friday, I was just telling myself that I just needed some rest over the weekend, and I will feel better soon. My final thoughts trailed off as around 4:30pm, I was just dropped on bed and started getting chills. I am usually very active and positive person, so i knew that mostly i am getting the final dreaded monster which was waiting on my d

Food for thoughts ...

Being a foodie sometimes i just wonder who taught us to cook rice, to make bread and so many of those delicious dishes, cooked and processed saviors that helped us to survive every day. Who was that first man/woman who invented those , yes as per me these inventions are life changing and no where  less than any major scientific revolutions that we observed.  When we were living in the cave also i read that human started learn the usage of fire. But the major breakthrough is knowing the usage of Salt. How many of the human sacrificed their life as a young apprentice while trying some new fruit / fish/ milk. Not everything is edible in this world. Out of those trillions things to figure out and eat what is right, that is a great elimination round that we have passed without any trace. Current form of Homo Sapiens  exists in this world around 200,000 years ( source ) so how eventually the food also evolve in different phases around the same duration of time.
